Wall Lenk Drill and Tap Guide Kit
Wall Lenk Drill and Tap Guide Kit
Previous 1 of 5 Next
An easy and effective guide to center drill and tap flat surfaces (skis & snowboards), corners, cylindrical tubes (ski poles, bike tubes, pack frames, etc). Kit includes drill guide, (4) drill bushings: 3/16", 1/4", 5/16" & 3/8" and a center punch/locator pin (CP/L). Securely hold to material being drilled with clamp or vise.
  • V-groove in Drill Guide to position on cylinders, tubes & edges
  • Disc shaped recess in Drill Guide to position on spheres
General Instructions:
  1. Locate and mark hole center. Use center punch to punch mark the hole center.
  2. With the pointed end of the CP/L facing down, place the 3/16" Drill Bushing, with the large end up, over the CP/L and place both into the Drill Guide.
  3. Place Drill Guide over center of the hole mark using the pointed end of the CP/L to locate the indent, cneter punched in Step 1. You have now centered the Drill Guide.
  4. Secure the Drill Guide in place over hole center with hand, clamp, vise or other device. Pull out CP/L which will also pull out the Drill Bushing from Drill Guide.
  5. Select the Drill Bushing that matches the hole size being drilled (3/16", 1/4", 5/16" or 3/8"), and place it into the Drill Guide with the large end up.
  6. Set Drill Stop on drill to desire depth as needed.
  7. Drill hole.
  8. If tapping, remove Drill Bushing (a magnet works well) and place appropriate Drill Bushing for the tap with tap stop as needed.
  9. Tap hole.
Note: Setting drill bit or tap depths with stops before placing the bushings in the drill/tap guide. Place drill bit or bushing to the required depth with the tip exposed from the bottom and secure stop above bushing.

Note 2; For redrilling holes to larger diameter, you can also set the drill guide location using the a drill bit in a bushing. IE, a alpine stepped drill can be used in a 5/16" bushing, clamp and then use the 1/4" bushing to drill for stainless steel inserts or heli coils....or a 5/16" drill for tap in inserts.
