Base welding wire is compatible with UHMW (scintered) base material and will work quickly and easily. More important is that this proprietary formula wears longer and holds stronger than any other rod/wire we've found, including the "copolymers." The material we use is substantially harder and melts at a higher temperature. Base welding rod is shipped in coil increments and measures .125" (3.175mm). Order as many sections as you need in a continuous coil. Make sure you have a panzer file for easy and smooth cutting, a good stainless steel scraper, sandpaper, and texture pad, along with cleaner and wax. Combine items to reduce shipping charges. P-tex candles are a OK for temporary filling of gouges and nicks, but welds last much longer. Weld it yourself with our Pro Fix Base Repair iron, skill and care. DO NOT WELD IN THE PRESENCE OF FLUORO WAXES.
